[vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”143446″]Events at the Katowice Book Fair will cover a variety of topics at the intersection of science and the humanities \u2013 from a lecture by Dr. Changil You<\/strong> on Korean-Polish relations to meetings on the history of Upper Silesia, organized by Wydawnictwo Naukowe \u201e\u015al\u0105sk\u201d, Instytut Pami\u0119ci Narodowej i Bibliotek\u0119 \u015al\u0105sk\u0105.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This edition will also feature meetings dedicated to non-fiction, reportage, and history<\/strong>. Authors who will present their latest books include: Dariusz Kortko & Judyta Wato\u0142a<\/strong> (\u201eZembala. Szpital to ja\u201d), Agata Listo\u015b-Kostrzewa<\/strong> (\u201eBallada o \u015bpi\u0105cym lwie\u201d), Micha\u0142 Bulsa<\/strong> (\u201eBytom, kt\u00f3rego nie ma\u201d), and Sebastian Rosenbaum & Bogus\u0142aw Tracz<\/strong> (\u201ePunkt zwrotny. Rok 1945 na G\u00f3rnym \u015al\u0105sku\u201d).<\/p>\n

Regional themes will also be present \u2013 the Silesian Program<\/strong> will include discussions about the identity and history of the region, including mining, language, culture, and the memory of places that have disappeared from the map.<\/p>\n

For fans of genre literature, the Crime Zone<\/strong> will offer meetings with leading crime writers, including Robert Ma\u0142ecki, Ewa Przydryga, Marta Matyszczak, Maciej Siembieda, Ryszard \u0106wirlej, Marek Zgajewski<\/strong>, and J\u0119drzej Pasierski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event will also have an international dimension. Authors from Czechia and South Korea<\/strong> will visit Katowice. Guests include Karin Lednick\u00e1<\/strong> \u2013 a renowned Czech author of the bestselling “\u0160ikm\u00fd kostel” (“Crooked Church”) series, a timeless story of the Polish-Czech borderland in Silesia (published by Znak Horyzont), as well as Keumhee Kim<\/strong> \u2013 an acclaimed Korean writer, author of The Diary of a Korean Plant Parent\u201d. <\/em>The meeting with Keumhee Kim will also feature Dr. Changil You<\/strong>, and is co-organized by the Korean Cultural Center<\/strong> and Wydawnictwo<\/strong> W.A.B<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
